Tanner Monson rounded out the Perham top seven finishing just one spot out of All-Conference in 16th place.

“We are super excited to see our pack tightening up,” Head Coach Jeff Morris said. “Ben really made a big jump to close the gap to Billy and Jayden, while Chris and Kanyon continue to move up the pack. Our seventh runner today Tanner Monson really ran well. Tanner has been consistent all year, but really made a good jump in the varsity lineup.”

The Perham boys Junior Varsity had a perfect score led by Carson Speicher who won the JV title as an eighth grader, while freshman Hunter Kjelshus finished seconnd overall. Senior Leighton Covington, Freshman Jacob Dickerson, and Senior Hunter Salathe rounded out the scoring for the JV.

In the Perham Junior High race Aaron Wegscheid was the individual winner with Clayton Anderson and Nick Lund also posting top 10 finishes.

In the girls varsity, Freshman Brynnan Covington ran a solid race finishing as the HOL Conference runner-up to Roseau junior Madeline Huglen.

Lizzie Fudge made apush late in the race to move up in the fifth overall. Seventh grader Caitlin Covington earned All-Conference honors finishing seventh overall while Sydney Karels finished 13th giving the Perham girls four all-conference runners.

Rounding out the scoring for the Jackets is first year varsity runner Jenna Wegscheid just missing All-Conference honors 18th overall.

Racole Karels and Kayla Hodgen finished 22nd and 26th respectively.

“Our girls ran really well as a team today and really are starting to believe they have what it takes to make a push for a first ever state title. As coaches, we know that they are going to have to really work hard over the last mile of the race so in the next few weeks that is going to be our focus in every hard workout - closing.

The girls JV also won the HOL with Mary Riestenberg as the individual champion and Allie Hoeft as the runner-up. Brooklyn Koetke and Emma Sweere also posted top 10 finishes.

The junior high girls placed all five of their finishers in the top 10. Hailey Wegscheid and Emily Kain led the girls with second and third place finishes. Jocelyn Smith, Hailey Galbrecht and Maddie McCrary finished fifth, sixth and 10th to round out Perham scoring.
