Perham 'Tailgate Party' August 29
Perham High School will host a "Tailgate Party" Friday, August 29 from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at Fritz Hanson Practice Field (located west of Meinhover Field and north of Matt's Field.)
PHS is celebrating the presentation of the Minnesota State High School League's prestigious Challenge Cup; an award that is given to the state's top athletic and fine arts performance for the 2007-08 school year.
This event will have a live band "Bomb the Day", brats and hotdogs by Big Al's Grill Team, chips from Barrel O' Fun, inflatable games and toys from Dan Christianson, and a tent by Ottertail Tents. Representatives from the MSHSL will be on hand to present the crystal cup to Perham High School students and staff.
There is no charge for this event, only a free will offering for those so inclined.
Activities Director Fred Sailer invites the community to celebrate the achievement of the staff and students of Perham High School, "PHS is the first public school to win this award; we are absolutely thrilled with the sportsmanship and performance of our artists and athletes and want to share their success with the community."
After the tailgate party the Yellow Jacket football team will host Pelican Rapids in the season opener at 7 p.m. during halftime of the game a new class of Yellow Jacket Hall of Fame inductees will be introduced and a reception will follow the game at Mulligan's.
