Perham third in final MSHSL Challenge Cup standings
One of Perham High School's most successful atheltic and arts years landed the Yellowjackets in third place in the final Minnesota State High School League Challenge Cup standings in Class 2A.
Perham amassed 259 points, led by the boys cross country team scoring 50 for a state title and the baseball team's state runner-up finish amountng to 40 points. Perham also had state championships from the boys 4x800m relay team of Billy Beseman, Dalton Dahms, Nick Carignan and Brady Speicher, along with state speech champion in creative expression Brian Howey.

The Blake School won the 2A Cup with 667 total points. Blake had 16 state championships including individual performances. Blake, a private school, competes in 29 high school events, while Perham participates in 23. Blake has an enrollment of approximately 1,370 students, while Perham's is typically less than 600.
Perham won the 2A Challenge Cup in 2008.
Wayzata won in Class 3A, while Bethlehem Academy took the 1A Cup.
Awarded annually to three high schools, the Challenge Cupis a statewide, year-long competition among League member schools. Points are awarded to schools based on their success in section and state fine arts and athletics tournaments. The three schools--one in class A, one in Class AA and one in Class AAA--with the most points at the end of the year are awarded the traveling Challenge Cup.
