Perham woman a Professional Communications Contest winner
Winners of the 2013 North Dakota Professional Communicators Communications Contest were recently recognized at the annual spring conference in Minot, N.D.
Twenty one members earned 122 awards for their work in print media, photography, advertising, writing for and development of the web, promotion, public relations, marketing, speeches and books.
Among the winning members is Merrie Sue Holtan, of Perham. Holtan received three first place awards for specialty articles about home, sports and travel, as well as a first place award for a personality profile. She also won two third place awards, one for a personality profile and another for a feature story.
Holtan is a freelance writer who is regularly published in the Fargo Forum newspaper and other publications.
The first place awards have been entered in the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) contest. These awards will be announced at the annual conference in August.
North Dakota Professional Communicators is the state affiliate of NFPW, an organization of communication professionals from across the United States. The North Dakota group is an organization of women and men employed in all aspects of communication: newspapers, public relations, education, magazines, television, radio, publishing, advertising, photography and freelance.
