Schultz joined more than 600 American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network volunteers from across the country to ask lawmakers in the nation's capital to protect funding for cancer research and prevention programs.

Schultz met with Representative Collin Peterson about the need to put partisanship aside on behalf of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors in the U.S., as well as the more than 1.6 million people who will be diagnosed this year.

As a cancer patient and survivor, Schultz is aware of the struggles that face cancer patients and the need for programs and services for the people of East Otter Tail County and across Minnesota.

Schultz and other volunteers advocate for funding for cancer research and prevention. They also want to make legislation that would improve the quality of life for cancer patients a top priority.
