Perham woman wins NDPC writing awards
Winners of the 2013 National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest were recognized at the annual fall conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Merrie Sue Holtan, of Perham, was among the winners. Holtan is a freelance writer for the Fargo Forum newspaper and other publications.
Fifteen members of North Dakota Professional Communicators earned 36 awards for their work in print media, photography, advertising, writing for and development of the web, promotion, public relations, marketing, speeches and books.
Holtan won first place in Specialty articles, in the Travel category. She also won two Honorable Mentions in Specialty articles, in the Sports and Home categories.
The North Dakota Professional Communicators group is the state affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women, an organization of communication professionals from across the United States. Women and men employed in all aspects of communication are a part of this national group, including newspapers, public relations, education, magazines, television, radio, publishing, advertising, freelance and more.
