In game one, Perham got on the board with a pair of first inning runs. Shane Miller and Brad Ellingson had back-to-back singles to start the game. Miller scored on a sac fly by Nate Schmitz and Ben Bucholz brought in Ellingson with a RBI single. The Flyers answered with a pair of runs in the home half of the first.

Perham regained the lead in the fifth when Schmitz scored on a RBI single by Anthony Ruther.

After Little Falls scored two in the sixth for a 4-3 lead, the Jackets tied the game in the top of the seventh. Shawn Stafki led off with a double and eventually scored on a bases loaded walk.

Tied 4-4 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, the Flyers' Riley Hirsch would get a base hit to send teammate Peter Suska to third base. In the next at-bat, Logan Kalis nailed a base hit to right field, bringing in Suska for the game-winning run.

Kalis would strike again for the Flyers in game two. His two-run double in the sixth inning broke open a 7-7 game to give the Flyers the sweep.

Little Falls was up 2-0 when Perham scored three times in the top of the fourth thanks to a pair of walks and a two-run single by Ellingson.

The Jackets added two in the fifth and two more in the sixth to tie the game.

"We played better than we did against Crosby-Ironton," head coach Hans Hanson said. "They (Little Falls) are a tough team. We pitched ok, but our walks gave us issues. We did hit better though. I saw some good things from this group. I like playing tougher teams, even though we took a couple losses."

Monday at Upsala

The Jackets broke out their bats Monday in a 14-7 win at Upsala/Swanville.

Eleven players had at least one hit as he Jackets knocked out 15 safeties in the game.

Shane Miller led the way going 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored. Tyler Lynne went 2-for-3.

Miller was one of five Jackets with multiple RBI. Nate Schmitz drove in four runs while going 1-for-3.

Upsala/Swanville beat Perham in last year's season opener, 8-3.

Hanson goes for 200

The Jackets will continue their non-conference schedule this week when they host Section 8AA rival Fergus Falls on April 24. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Krueger Field. Perham knocked the Otters out of last year's playoffs with a 5-2 win in the second round.
