Late inning loss

The Yellowjackets were up 8-4 through five innings, but Fergus Falls scored 10 times in the final two frames, including seven times in the seventh, to beat Perham, 14-8.

Trailing 4-1 after an inning and a half, Perham put together a second inning rally. Shane Miller started the scoring with a two-run single. Anthony Ruther followed with a RBI double and two more scored on an infield hit by Ben Bucholz followed by an error. Perham scored two more in the third, one on an infield hit by Brad Ellingson, and the Jackets were up 8-4.

The Otters crept back into the game with three runs in the sixth. In the seventh, they took advantage of a passed ball on a strike three, two wild pitches, a walk, four errors, and an infield hit as part of a seven-run inning.

Perham beat Fergus Falls (5-6) season, 5-2, in the second round of the 8AA playoffs.

Pequot Lakes will be at Krueger Field for a Mid-State doubleheader on May 5. Perham has won seven-straight against the Patriots. The first game will start at 4 p.m.

The Jackets will hit the road on May 8 for a doubleheader against Mid-State rival Detroit Lakes. Last year, Perham lost both regular season games to the Lakers, but got their revenge with a 10-5 win in the Section 8AA playoffs.

Perham will be looking to extend their dominance over Frazee (1-5) in the "Battle of the Bees" on May 11 at Krueger Field. The Yellowjackets are 9-0 against the Hornets since 2001.

The Jackets will make it three games in two days with a Mid-State doubleheader at Staples-Motley on May 12. S-M swept Perham last year, 3-1 and 6-2.

Schedule change

Perham's regular season game scheduled against Sebeka on May 22 has been moved. Perham will now host Sebeka on May 18 at Krueger Field at 4 p.m.
