2008 Sections: The Yellowjackets finished third at the 8AA Sub-Section Meet behind Detroit Lakes and Roseau. They improved to 2nd at the Section 8AA Meet a week later, 14 strokes behind Detroit Lakes. Crookston was third, followed by H/U-H and Roseau. Dan Cavanagh was the only Jacket to advance to State. The 8th grader finished 80th out of 87 golfers at State.

Detroit Lakes went on to tie for the State Class AA team title with Orono.

2009 Seniors: Nate Sullivan, Jason Huus.

Get to Know'em: Dan Cavanagh (2008 State Participant), Alex Phelps (2008 All-Conference),

Strengths: The Jackets only lost two seniors from last year's squad. They return a solid core of young golfers, with only two seniors this year as well. The team is a close knit group that work well together, which should help them improve as the season goes on.

Season Outlook: H/U-H will be tough again. It figures to be a two-team race for the HOL title with them and Perham. Detroit Lakes graduated their entire squad from last year's State championship team, opening the section to teams like Perham, H/U-H, Crookston and Roseau.

Coaches Quote: "It should be an interesting year, as long as Mother Nature treats us somewhat better than last year. I am looking forward to it as I think we have a very realistic shot at winning sections and going to State. We have a solid core of returnees and a promising group of young golfers."
