Perham's sweep of the four singles matches secured the win. Mike Buer led the was with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Jordan Cresap also had an easy win at the No. 4 spot, 6-0, 6-3.

The most competitive match came at No. 3 singles, where Scott Eickschen lost the first set 6-1, then came back to take the second set, 6-1. The third set needed a tie break before Eickschen came out on top, 7-6 (8-6).

The Jackets fifth win was at No. 3 doubles where the team of Chad Hofland and Randy Swanson had a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Perham also beat W-DC last year, 4-3 and finished ahead of them at the 2008 Mid-State Conference Tournament.

The Jackets weren't able to sustain their momentum into Friday's match at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle as they lost, 7-0.

Perham will take on defending Mid-State champs Staples-Motley on Tuesday, May 5. The Mid-State Conference Meet will be Thursday, May 7 in Park Rapids.
