PHS Girls Golf: Perham wins at Balmoral
By John George
It was not a good day for the Perham girls golfers Last Thursday. Not only did they have to play on a cold, wet, windy day at Wadena's Whitetail Run G.C., they did it shorthanded.
Head coach Cory Solberg sent what he called a "mixed team" to the W-DC Invite, and they finished sixth with a team score of 428.
Solberg said he had varsity girls missing because of illness and because of AP test preparation.
Staples-Motley earned team honors with a 349. The Cardinals were led by medalist Cydney Hasselberg's round of 81.
Kaylan Huber had the Lady Jackets low round with a 102.
"I'm proud of these girls for playing as hard as they could on a miserable day," Solberg said.
