The Jackets managed just two hits in a 6-0 loss in game one. W-DC scored three runs in both the fourth and fifth innings off Mallory Malikowski. Malikowski pitched well in the loss, striking out nine batters and walking just three.

W-DC had a 5-0 lead in the sixth when Malikowski connected for a two-run double. But the Wolverines put one more insurance run in the seventh to win 6-2.

Natalie Wierbos went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Brittnie Hersch was also 2-for-3 at the plate.

The Wolverines swept last year's doubleheader, 4-3 and 11-5 after Perham picked up a 12-3 win over W-DC at the 2008 Frazee Tournament.

On May 5, the Lady Jackets will travel to Pequot Lakes for a pair of games against the Patriots. Perham swept last year's games, 17-6 and 12-5.

Another "Battle of the Bees" will take place on May 11 when the Yellowjackets host Frazee. Perham beat the Hornets last year, 18-5. First pitch will be at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Jackets will host Staples-Motley in their Mid-State Conference finale and the last home game of the year on May 12. The Cardinals swept last year's series, winning 4-0 and 9-4.
