2008-09 Season: The Yellowjackets finished with a 25-7 record and won their 3rd straight Heart O' Lakes Conference title. Luke Sailer, Sam Warne and Charlie Schmitz were individual HOL champs. All of their regular season losses came at The Clash in Rochester (1-5).

2009 Sections:

As the 8AA South Sub-Section's No. 1 seed, Perham beat Detroit Lakes, Roseau and Thief River Falls for their 3rd Straight 8AA title. At State, the Jackets went 0-2, losing to Foley and Mora.

2009-10 Seniors: Sam Warne (4-time state entrant , 2-time state place winner), Charlie Schmitz (3-time State Entrant), Chris Scheidecker, Ben Brill (5th at Sections), Taylor Doll, Cody Palubicki, Mike Warne, Jon Langlie.

Get to Know'em: Jesse Hein (Soph., 3rd in Sections), Luke Sailer (Freshman, 3rd in Sections), Brandon Lueders (Soph.), James Harlow (Jr.), Brady Sazama (Freshman), Josh Werner, Ty Haverland (Soph.) Andrew Moberg, Gene Schleeter (Jr.), David Langlie

Strengths:

This year's team has some fine leaders in Sam Warne and Charlie Schmitz. Many of the newcomers know how to win based on the tough schedule that the team has had for the last few years. They will be young, and inexperienced at some weights, but they should improve as the season goes on. The team's 7-9 graders look as talented as any group of 7-9 they have had before.

Season Outlook: Frazee is really the only challenger to take away Perham's HOL crown.

As the 3-time defending champs, you might say the Section 8AA title is Perham's to lose. Thief River Falls will be strong again and Fergus Falls and Staples-Motley are both ranked in the preseason top-10.

Coaches Quote: "Some of the faces change but the expectations are still the same. This year's group has the potential to be a very solid team. If the seniors provide stable, consistent leadership and performance while the underclassmen improve every day, this team should contend for a section title." Robb Moser
