There's something about the pool at Fosston High School that the Yellowjacket girls swim team likes. Two years ago, they won the Fosston-Bagley Invite and last year, they beat the F-B swimmers there in a dual, 55-39.

On Saturday, the Perham/NY Mills swim team returned to the Fosston-Bagley Invitational for the first time since their 2007 win. They were able to produce the same results, winning the six-team event with a team score of 366. The hometown Seals were second with 309 points, followed by Detroit Lakes in third with 235.

The Jackets won the team title with only one event win at the invite. The team of Maggie Carlson, Kelsey Kratzke, Bailey Meyer and Whitney Carow opened the meet by winning the first event, the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:05.63.

Individually, the Perham/NYM team had several top-five finishes. Rylie Rothmeyer picked up a pair of second place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:13.33) and the 500 free (5:51.58). Meyer was also runner-up in two races, the 100 butterfly (1:09.00) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.47).

Kratzke was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.10) and third in the 200 I.M. (2:31.85) for the Lady Jackets. Carow had a third place finish in the 100 free (1:01.71) and Carlson was third in the 100 backstroke (1:11.80).
