Quilts and dolls

Email

A new quilt exhibit is on display at the History Museum of East Otter Tail County.

The quilt was made by Verona Larson, long time member of the East Otter Tail Historical Society and guiding force behind the Friends of the History Museum of East Otter Tail County.

The History Museum, which opened in 1998, and the ITOW Veterans Museum, which opened in 2006, both contain examples of exhibits that were only possible because of her care in preserving the history of the area. More recently, the Friends of the Museum became guardians of the doll collection she donated to Perham.

A few dolls from Verona Larson's House of Dolls have crept out of storage to help enhance the new quilt exhibit.

The History Museum of East Otter Tail County is located at 230 First Avenue North, Perham and open Monday-Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 1-4. Admission is free. Information is available at 218-346-7676 and on-line at www.HistoryMuseumEOT.org.
