The Perham girls basketball team dropped to 2-5 after a second consecutive close loss at the end of the game.

Crosby-Ironton made the big shots and got the defensive stops when they needed to late in the contest.

"We played well in short stretches throughout the game, but are still looking for more consistent play as the season continues," Perham Head Coach John Gullingsrud said.

Katrina Moenkedick led the Yellowjackets with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, but got little help from the rest of the team.

Becky Stoll scored seven points in 29 minutes of play. Stoll had an interesting night shooting. She was only 1-9 from the field and 0-3 from three-point land, but made five of six free throws.

Woeful second half shooting doomed Perham as they shot only 28 percent in the latter half, 34 percent for the game.

The Rangers shot consistently, 54 percent early and 52 percent in the second half.

Ranger Chelsey Bonsante led all scorers with 24 points. Shannon Lundgren had 13. The duo scored 70 percent of the Rangers points.

Perham did hold a one-point advantage at halftime, 28-27.

The road gets more difficult for the Yellowjackets after the holiday as they will face #4-2A Hawley at the Fergus Falls Tournament, which begins Wednesday, Dec. 28.
