Richville man facing felony after punching his stepmother
Kerry Lee Herrmann, 39, of Richville, appeared in Otter Tail County District Court on Dec. 2, charged with felony domestic assault.
A female witness alleged that Herrmann punched his stepmother with a closed fist, according to court records.
Records show the incident took place at 1:30 a.m., Nov. 27, on 395th Street near Richville. Herrmann “intentionally caused fear in a household member and intentionally inflicted or attempted to inflict bodily harm,” records state.
Herrmann reportedly told law enforcement that he had consumed alcohol at local bars just prior to the alleged assault. According to Court Administration, this was in violation of a restricted driver’s license that prevents him from operating a vehicle after alcohol has been consumed.
Hermann has previous convictions that include a misdemeanor domestic assault in April 2006 and a gross misdemeanor domestic assault in June 2009.
His next court appearance has been scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16.
