Rip Roarin' Grass Drags
Attendance was up this year for the annual Rip Roarin' R.O.L.A. Days grass drags event held Saturday at the New York Mills Municipal Airport.
This is the first year the grass drags, which featured snowmobiles, 4-wheelers, mini-bikes, and even golf carts, was held at the airport. Local organizers for the event, put on by the Regional One-Lungers Association, were pleased with how things went at the new location.
"The airport was awesome!" commented Shannon Lausten of R.O.L.A. "We had more swappers and more attendance than previous years."
Lausten reported there were approximately 95 race entries from all over Minnesota, North Dakota, and Canada. Entrants competed in 18 different classes for snowmobiles, 4-wheelers, motorcycles, and other races.
