Rural Perham home sustains fire, smoke damage
The Perham Fire Department responded to a house fire on June 26 at 8:15 a.m. on 440th Street in rural Perham, near Big Pine Lake.
According to Fire Chief Mark Schmidt, the fire was in the house’s kitchen, which sustained most of the burn damage. The structure was saved, but there was heavy smoke damage in portions, he said.
Perham EMS and the New York Mills Fire Department also responded to the scene.
No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire was under investigation at press time on Tuesday.
