Santa Anonymous donation boxes are placed around NY Mills

Make Christmas even more meaningful this year by participating in the New York Mills area's Santa Anonymous program.

Santa Anonymous has made the holidays happier for more than 200 children in need in past years. This is the 29th year of the program.

To get involved, simply purchase gifts for children (suggestions and sizes are available from program volunteers), wrap them and bring them to any drop-off location.

The need is great and help is greatly appreciated. To adopt a family, call 218-640-3254. All details will be given and kept confidential.

Donation boxes are placed in the following New York Mills-area locations:

Cenex C-store, Credit Union, Dean's Country Market, Seip Drug, Hardware Hank, Mills Lanes, NY Mills Public Library, F and M Bank and the NY Mills Post Office. Various churches may also have collection boxes.

New gifts for children from infancy to 18 years of age are needed, especially teenagers.

Monetary donations may be sent to: Kay Tougas at 111 N. Broadway in New York Mills or deposited directly into the Santa Anonymous account at F and M Bank.

Gifts will be collected from the boxes on Dec. 14.

Gift wrapping will take place Dec. 17 at the county office building. Volunteer shifts are from 9 to noon and 3:30-6 p.m. or until finished. Call 218-640-3254 if interested in helping wrap or deliver gifts.
