Santa Anonymous donation boxes out at businesses

The collection date for gifts through Santa Anonymous has changed to Dec. 12.

Donation boxes have been wrapped and placed in New York Mills businesses by the local Family, Career and Community Leaders of America group. Now, those boxes just need to get filled with Christmas gifts for New York Mills area families.

Last year, 66 local families with 150 children and 43 seniors had their Christmas brightened by being ‘adopted’ through the Santa Anonymous program.

This year, gifts are still needed for infants and children up to 18 years old. Names of families adopted, as well as those doing the adopting, are kept confidential. Gifts will be collected Dec. 12 and wrapped by volunteers on Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon and 3:30-6 p.m. at the county office building.

To adopt a family or volunteer to help wrap, call 218-640-3254.

Monetary donations may be sent to Kay Tougas at 111 N. Broadway in New York Mills, or deposited directly into the SA account at Farmers and Merchants State Bank in New York Mills.
