Section 6A Wrestling: New York Mills and Barnesville advance with easy wins

NEW YORK MILLS -- The No. 3-seeded Eagles wrestling team won 10 of 14 matches over Ottertail Central to advance to the semifinals of the Section 6A wrestling tournament with a 41-22 victory.

Nick Hendrickx, John Flynn, Shane Novak, Austin Haman, Tyler Ehnert, Taylor Ericksrud, Kacee Skoog, Noah Pesola, Tyler Patron and Max Carlson all won matches for the Eagles.

New York Mills will face the No. 2 seed, Border West, this Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. in Wadena. Border West defeated West Central Area 51-17.

Border West and New York Mills met in Wheaton Jan. 15. The Eagles were defeated by the Buccaneers 45-31.

Top seed Barnesville advanced easily defeating Breckenridge 63-12. The Trojans will face Bertha-Hewitt. The Bears advanced defeating Pelican Rapids 43-27.
