PERHAM -- The Perham seventh grade football team was back in action this week with two home football games.
On Tuesday, October 2, the young Jackets faced a very stout Detroit Lakes team.
Both teams were able to get on the board with early scores.
Fortunately, the Jackets were able to convert their conversion attempt and went into halftime with an 8-6 lead.
However, the second half belonged to the Lakers.
A fumble on Perham's opening possession of the second half resulted in a Laker touchdown.
Detroit Lakes was able to control the ball and the clock and were able to hand the Jackets a 32-8 defeat.
A cool Thursday evening greeted the Jackets as they took the field against the Park Rapids Panthers.
Perham was able to score on a long run early in the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead.
Park Rapids answered right back with a solid drive and a score to make it 6-6.
Both teams were able to move the ball but each was not able to score again in the first half.
The second half began with a long time consuming drive by the Jackets.
They were able to end the drive with a touchdown run and a conversion making the score 14-6.
Both teams traded turnovers to end the third quarter.
The Jackets were able to control the ball and eat up most of the clock in the fourth quarter.
The game ended with a 14-6 Yellow Jacket victory.
The Jackets will be in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 9, against the Frazee Hornets.
