Several road projects on county agenda
Road construction is over for this year, but county workers are already gearing up for future projects.
At last week’s meeting of the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners, Assistant Highway Engineer Chuck Grotte talked briefly about the road construction projects completed this year, as well as some design projects that are in process and road work scheduled to begin in 2014 and beyond.
Discussion followed regarding projects throughout the county, including a Highway 9 reconstruction project near Pelican Rapids, a Highway 32 overlay project near Dead Lake in central Otter Tail County, 2014 traffic marking and the Highway Safety Improvement Program, which will include lighting at highway intersections.
Overlay on Highway 1, from Highway 35 to Highway 45 covering 2.5 miles near Phelps Mill, will also commence in 2014.
Bridge replacement over the Otter Tail River, near Orwell Dam south of Fergus Falls, will likely take place in 2015.
