Sheets named to Minnesota Funeral Directors Association Board
Steve Sheets, Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, was elected by District 9 Funeral Directors to serve on the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association (MFDA) Board of Directors for a 3-year term.
The district is comprised of the cities of Moorhead, Breckenridge, Fergus Falls, Ashby, Evansville, Battle Lake, Barnesville, Elbow Lake, Verndale, Wadena, Henning, Bertha, Sebeka, Perham, Frazee, Pelican Rapids, Detroit Lakes, Hawley and Park Rapids.
The MFDA was established in 1890 "to connect people, resources, ideas, solutions and best practices."
As stated on www.mnfuneral.org, "the MFDA is the statewide resource dedicated to supporting our member's growth professionally, ethically and operationally. Our mission is to enhance and support funeral service excellence through our programs, legislative representation and service to Minnesotans." This is accomplished through the core values of the MFDA, which are "essential and enduing principles that guide our organization's behaviors and actions," and include:
-Advancing the value of funeral services consistent with the changing needs of society;
-Advocacy on behalf of consumers and members;
-Visionary leadership - trust and confidence in staff and volunteer leadership;
-Promotion of integrity and honest and ethical behavior;
-Collaboration with others in the interest of consumers and members, and;
-Recognizing the importance of education as a vehicle to enhance both public service and public image.
