Sister Clara Schroedl, 76, died on June 22, 2009, at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, Minn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Convent on Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at St. Francis Convent on Thursday, June 25, from 4 - 8:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Friday, June 26. A wake service will be held at the Convent at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 25.

Arrangements are by the Shelley Funeral Chapel, Little Falls.

Sister Clara was born on February 26, 1933 in Verona, N. Dak. She was the youngest of six children born to the late George and Katherine (Uhlenhake) Schroedl. She was accepted as a Franciscan Sister of Little Falls, Minnesota, on July 31, 1952. She made her first profession of vows on August 12, 1954, and final vows on August 12, 1957. She was a Franciscan Sister for 56 years

Sister Clara ministered as a nurse assistant, food service assistant, pastoral minister and physical therapist.She served in Little Falls, Breckenridge and Onamia, Minn.; Cudahy and South Milwaukee, Wis.; Fargo, N. Dak.; Jackson and Huntingdon, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by all of her siblings: Dolores Hedstrom, Harold, Leota Plautz, Marion Vrchota and George. Survivors include: sister-in-law, Wilma, La Feria, Tex.; brother-in-law, Adolph Vrchota, Minneapolis; her nephews and nieces and her Franciscan Community.
