Speicher will run indoor and outdoor track, as well as cross country for Minnesota State University Moorhead during the 2013-14 season.

Hein signed to play football next year at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

Speicher was the leading senior on the state and national cross country championship teams. In his senior season, Speicher was all-state, all-state academic, all-section, and all-conference in leading the Yellowjackets to their 11th consecutive Heart O' Lakes Conference championship and 11th straight Section 8A championship, Perham's fourth Class A state championship and the school's first-ever National High School Coaches Association Division II National Championship voted upon by XCnation.

Hein's football record at Perham may be unmatched. Hein is the single-season and career rushing leader. In a two-game span his senior season he rewrote four school records surpassing such Perham legends as Fritz Hanson and contemporary standouts like Ben Bucholz and Eric Erickson.

Hein led Perham to the state quarterfinals as a junior and made the trip to Metrodome for the state semifinals his senior season. The Yellowjackets were 18-6 those two seasons and 16-3 in the final 19 games of Hein's career.

2013 marks back-to-back years for the Hein family on signing day as last year Jordan's brother Jesse signed to play football at Bemidji State University.
