St. Paul man arrested in Fargo on suspicion of luring girl under 15 for sex
A 38-year-old man from St. Paul was arrested Saturday, suspected of meeting who he thought was a girl under the age of 15 for sex, police say.
Jerry Lee Derman is expected to face a charge of luring a minor by computer, a Class B felony.
Derman arranged for the meeting at about 3 p.m. in the 1400 block of South University Drive after he began talking in an online chat room to an undercover Fargo police detective posing as an underage girl, Lt. Joel Vettel said in a news release.
The online chats with the detective began March 19 and are alleged to have included references to sexual contact, Vettel said.
It was the sixth arrest in a luring case since June 2010 in an ongoing sting operation by Fargo police's Crimes against Children group.
