Students assist with community garden
Perham and New York Mills High School landscape classes helped out the Perham Community Garden. Students grew plants for the community garden located at the Perham Food Shelf.
Marilyn Hofland has run the garden project for the past 14 years through her job at the U of MN Extension. The Nutrition Education Program is funded through the Food Support program with a very tight budget, so the garden has relied on the collaboration with the NYM school for over 10 years, and now the Perham High School, as well as donations from the Perham Lions Club. Those interested in a garden plot for next year should call the Extension Office at 385-5420.
