Students take a walking tour of historic Perham
Perham Minnesota 222 2nd Avenue SE 56573

Chris Schuelke, director of the Otter Tail County Historical Society, provided an interesting perspective on the history and architecture of Main Street in Perham during a walking tour on May 30.

A dozen residents and 16 Perham High School students, accompanied by their instructor, Shelley Bunkowske, took the two-hour tour. Students later said they enjoyed hearing from the tour participants; learning from the multi-generational group was one of the highlights of the evening. Students’ interest piqued when learning about Perham’s old butcher shop, and a lynching that occurred.
