Studer named UMAC pitcher of the week
ST. PAUL — TJ Studer, of Perham, was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Pitcher of the Week Tuesday.
Studer earned a complete game shutout versus North Central University, striking out 10 batters in a three-hit performance for the University of Northwestern St. Paul senior.
Studer currently has a 3.24 earned run average and a 2-2 record on the mound. His 25 innings pitched leads the Eagles’ staff.
Studer's teammate,Ryan Sutterer (Anoka, Minn./Anoka ), was chosen as the league's Baseball Player of the Week. Sutterer, a freshman, boasted a .579 batting average, .636 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging rate in five games last week, helping UNW to a 4-1 record.
Sutterer's plate appearances included a pair of doubles, two home runs and eight runs batted in.
