There was certainly something to crow about last weekend in Perham.

About 200 people flocked to Mulligans in Perham on Saturday to eye local fashions at the annual Court St. Rita Catholic Daughters Fall Style Show.

Fashions from Elegance, Ma's Little Red Barn, Nadine's, the Perham Memorial Hospital and Home gift shop and Richter's Men's Wear were showcased.

All of the money raised is donated to local charities and organizations. In addition to the entrance fee, there was a silent auction and raffles with prizes donated by area businesses.

Guests took home big items such as a Howard Miller clock, spa packages, auto detailing, jewelry, a quilt and many more.

Court St. Rita has had a style show for more than 30 years, according to Catholic daughter Sophie Zvonar.

"It has always been our major annual fundraiser," she said. "We have found out that ladies in the area and surrounding area look forward to this event and have made it an annual fun morning in Perham."

What's also great, she said, is the guests who attend the style show take time afterwards to stop downtown and shop at local businesses. Local merchants also gave coupons to put on the tables as individual table decorations.

And decorations there were.

The room and runway was decorated with a plethora of roosters, lights, fall leaves, tomato planters, and much more. Many guests commented on the grandeur and detail of the decorations, many of which came from Zvonar's home. She and several other members have collections of roosters or chickens which they allowed to be used for decorations.

Court St. Rita is very appreciative of the patrons who attended and all the area businesses that support the event.

"We are very appreciative for the support from the local merchants who donate so much for the silent auction and door prizes," Zvonar said. "Also many members donate to the cause be it items that were made or purchased. We could not do this event without the local merchant support."

Members of Court St. Rita work very hard in coordinating and working the event, Zvonar said.

"Our planning starts at the next meeting after the style show takes place," she said.

The theme for the next show is already set for snowmen, Zvonar said.
