Suicide call leads to man's arrest in Park Rapids
A man was arrested in Park Rapids after police initially responded to a call about a suicidal man.
According to the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, the call came in at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday about a man in Park Rapids trying to harm himself.
Park Rapids police responded and were assisted by a Hubbard County K-9 unit.
A news release said the man refused to comply with officers and punched the K-9 officer in the head, knocking him to the ground.
The officer's dog then apprehended the man.
The deputy sustained a broken hand in the incident. The man, whose name was not released, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a peace officer.
