Talent Showcase IV set for March 11
As long as local and area singers, musicians and dancers continue to hit the stage at the Frazee Event Center, there will be another Frazee Talent Showcase on the horizon.
The next one is just a few days away.
The Special Events Committee of the Frazee City Council will again sponsor a program jam-packed with local and area acts Thursday, March 11 at 7 p.m. It will be Talent Showcase IV, giving area artists an opportunity to share their talents.
Approximately 16 acts will sing, dance, and play musical instruments, either individually or in groups. All ages are represented, from children 6 years of age to...well...senior citizens.
This will be the fourth such entertainment revue since the initial production in November 2008. The March/November presentations are expected to continue, according to Special Events Committee Chairman John Dermody.
"Once again, we will have the North Star Cloggers and the Heart O'Lakes Harmony barbershop group featured on the program," he said. "In addition, we have elementary and high school students, dancers of all ages, singers, guitarists, pianists and even a storyteller."
The event will be open to the public at no charge; the showcase is set for 7-9 p.m. Doors of the FEC will open at 6, with cookies, lemonade and coffee served.
Any proceeds from cash donations will go to the Becker County Food Shelf. Each year on the organization's calendar, March is the big month to raise money and donations of non-perishable food items. Last year, more than $900 was donated to help relieve hunger in the area.
Door prizes donated by local businesses and other organizations will be awarded to members of the audience between acts. The gathering at the Frazee Event Center has enjoyed large crowds, which have proven to grow each time.
