Teanna Clark

Teanna Marie Clark, 29, whose Ojibwe name is "Gaag Equay" (which means "Porcupine Woman"), of Redby, Minn., died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at her home.

Teanna was born the daughter of Mary Lou (Clark) Norcross and Michael Norcross, Sr., on Aug. 10, 1978 in Red Lake, Minn. She was raised in Red Lake and Kelliher. After receiving her certified nursing assistant certificate, she worked for REM house, Joudain/Perpich Extended Care Facility in Red Lake, Health Star Circle of Life, Goldpine and Subway. She lived between Duluth, Cass Lake, Bemidji and most currently in Redby, Minn.

Teanna enjoyed spending time with children and family, going to her children's school events and special occasions. She also enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo with family and friends. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt.

Surviving Teanna are her daughter, Jasmine Clark of Redby; three sons, Frankie Papasodora III-Clark, Ryan Clark and Matthew Clark, all of Redby; father, Michael Norcross, Sr., of Duluth, Minn.; five sisters,

Michele Clark of Duluth, Rachel Clark (Kevin Heinonen, Jr.) of Detroit Lakes, Laura Clark of Duluth, Phyllis Norcross of Redby and Elizabeth Norcross of Duluth; four brothers, Michael Norcross, Jr. of Duluth, Brian Norcross (Crystal Heinonen) of Audubon, Gary Norcross of Fort Ripley, Kan., and Geoffrey Norcross of Redby; special friend and fiancé, Jamal Baird, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Genevieve Adams of Bemidji; as well as nine nieces and nephews.

Teanna was preceded in death by her mother, MaryLou (Clark) Norcross (1997); maternal grandmothers, Delores and Fannie Clark; and paternal great grandfather, William (Bill) Norcross, Sr. (2007).

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, January 6, at the Redby Community Center in Redby. Honorary casket bearers will be Teanna's sisters, aunts and cousins; active casket bearers will be Brian Norcross, Michael Norcross, Jr., Geoffrey Norcross, Gary Norcross, Joe Adams and Fred Buffalo, with alternate Corky Clark.

The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji is assisting the family with arrangements.
