Three agents serve region from Perham Farmers' Insurance office
Perham's Farmers' Insurance Agency office has three new agents serving the East Otter Tail County area.
James Matter, Merle Wold and James Poole will be staffing the Perham office five days a week, on a rotating basis.
And behind the desk every day will be Marilyn Zitzow, who has been with the Perham Farmers' Insurance office for 20 years.
The new agents are affiliated with the David Hiney/James Matter Agency in Detroit Lakes. They replace former Perham agent Ruth Kapaun.
"We're really looking forward to meeting our customers and business owners in the area," said Matter. "We're committed to Perham. We want to be a presence in the community, but also play an active role in the community."
Combined, the three agents have more than 30 years of experience with Farmers' Insurance.
"One of our agents will be available every day at the Perham office," said Poole.
Farmers' is the second largest insurance group in the United States, serving more than 10 million households in 41 states.
The company got its start in 1927, when the founders began offering preferred insurance rates to rural drivers--an overlooked and underserved market. They believed that farmers and ranchers, who had better driving records than urbanites due to the lower likelihood of accidents, ought to receive lower premiums.
Products include home insurance, auto, life and financial services.
