Three injured in Highway 10 collision at New York Mills
Three people were injured and taken to the hospital following a collision at the U.S. Highway 10 and Centennial Drive crossing Friday.
According to the State Patrol, the collision occured about 2 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Ruth Koljonen, 47, of New York Mills, was northbound on Centennial/84 and attempting to cross Highway 10 when it struck a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 10.
The second vehicle was hit broadside and rolled three times before coming to a stop. New York Mills Fire & Rescue, NYM Police Department, Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, and Tri-County Ambulance responded to the accident.
The driver of the second vehicle, Rochelle Ollila, 51, of Menahga, and two passengers, Wayne Ollila, 47, and a 9-year-old sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
Koljonen and her two passengers, a 13-year old and 10-year-old were not injured, according to the State Patrol. Koljonen was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup. Ollila was driving a 1994 Ford Explorer.
