Three Wadena residents seriously injured in crash

Three Wadena residents were seriously injured in a rollover car crash Tuesday night in Todd County.

According to a press release from the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Travis Petro, Adam Johnson and Lisa Rudrud, all of Wadena, were in a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville that was on 470th Street in Todd County west of Highway 71. The car was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control, causing the car to leave the roadway, after which it struck multiple trees, rolled over and ended up back on the roadway. The 911 call reporting the crash came in at 10:23 p.m.

All three occupants were transferred to Tri-County Health Care and then airlifted from there for further treatment.

Hewitt Fire and Rescue, Bertha Ambulance and Tri-County Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors in the crash, the release said.
