Thrift store moves to new location
Having trouble finding the Re-Use-It Thrift Store? It’s not a drawn-out April Fool’s joke – the store has moved from its former location at 900 East Main Street, to 225 East Main Street, next to Main Street Express.
“It’s really exciting,” said Therese Perro, the store’s manager, in an interview last week. “We had a lot of business at our old location, and now we’re looking forward to more.”
The store opened for the first time in its new location on April 1. Perro said the day started off somewhat slow, but that more shoppers were coming in as the day passed.
“There have been a lot of positive comments,” she said.
In addition to supporting the Perham Area Boys and Girls Club, the store is continuing its volunteer program, which helps community members complete service hours.
Re-Use-It will put its expanded space to use displaying just about anything a person could need: antiques, kitchenware, knickknacks, wall art, small appliances and electronics, clothing, furniture and more.
Donations may be dropped off at the garage door on the store’s southeast side from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
The store itself will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Hours may vary during the summer months.
The thrift store is a non-profit organization; all donations are tax deductible.
