Tom Berg to speak in Clitherall
Tom Berg, author of “Minnesota’s Miracle – Lessons from the Government that Worked,” will be the keynote speaker at a DFL Senate District 8 event at The Peak Supper Club in Clitherall on Thursday, April 25.
Berg served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1971-78. His book serves as a civics lesson and legislative primer – a living history account that offers suggestions and hope as well as hard truth and cold facts.
Written with input from four Democrat and four Republican colleagues from that era, “Minnesota’s Miracle” discusses a time when state legislators in the House and Senate, with the Governor, compromised and worked together to solve issues for the good of the people of Minnesota.
Recognizing their success, TIME magazine pictured Gov. Wendell Anderson on its cover, and coined the phrase “Minnesota’s Miracle.”
The event will include a social hour at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 and include a choice of chicken or ribs.
