The victory snaps a two-game skid for the Jackets after losses to Barnesville at home and at Hawley last week. Perham will close out conference play Friday at home versus D-G-F (2-7, 6-13), before ending the season with Pequot Lakes, Sebeka and Fergus Falls completing a four-game home stand. The regular season finale for Perham will be at Wadena-Deer Creek March 1.

PELICAN RAPIDS -- No. 3-2A Hawley took advantage of the absence of No. 10 Pelican Rapids' point guard Ryan Bruggeman, who missed Tuesday's game due to an ankle injury suffered in the Vikings' loss to East Grand Forks last week. The Nuggets led 46-37 at the half and blew the game open in the second half en route to an 87-64 victory and a two-game lead in the HOL at 9-1. Hawley swept the season series from Pelican and Barnesville. The Nuggets split with Perham and that loss remains their lone notch in the L column at 9-1, 18-1.

Pelican Rapids is 7-3 in conference and 14-6 overall. The Vikings have two remaining conference games at home versus Breckenridge and on the road at surging Barnesville (6-4, 12-7).

GLYNDON -- After a Jan. 31 loss to Hawley, Barnesville has won four straight, including three in conference. Tuesday, the Trojans defeated D-G-F 84-58 to pull within a game of Pelican. Austin Martz put up 25 points. Kyle Martz and Michael Strand each added 19 points. The Trojans have two HOL games remaining on back-to-back days Feb. 21-22 with rematches against D-G-F and Pelican Rapids at home.

The Nuggets' win over Pelican clinches a share of the HOL title and they should secure the conference regular season championship Friday night at home versus Frazee (0-10, 3-17). The HOL title has been shared the past two seasons by Perham and Pelican Rapids. Hawley and Breckenridge tied for first in 2009-10. Pelican Rapids was the last team to clinch sole possession of first place in 2008-09 with a HOL record of 18-0. In that span, two HOL champions have gone on to win state titles: Pelican Rapids in 2009 and Perham in 2011.

In Wednesday's AP poll, Hawley moved up to No. 2. Pelican Rapids remains at No. 10.
