Two former LP-A coaches make court appearances
Two former high school girls' basketball coaches at Lake Park-Audubon made initial court appearances Monday after being accused of sexually touching two players and offering them alcohol while staying at a hotel for an out-of-town tournament.
Andrew Patrick Schwan, 33, of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Darrin Alan Myhre, 28, of Minot, N.D., didn't enter pleas and were released on their own recognizance, said Mike Lieberg, criminal division chief for the Stearns County Attorney.
Their next hearings were set for Dec. 3, according to online court records.
Both men are charged with felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct as well as other misdemeanor charges of misconduct by a public employee and furnishing a minor alcohol.
Schwan is also charged with furnishing tobacco to a minor, a misdemeanor.
The charges stem from an incident at a hotel in St. Cloud, Minn., on Dec. 28, in which the coaches allegedly fondled two players. A parent reported the allegations to St. Cloud police.
