Two student concerts coming up at PHS
The Perham High School auditorium will be a busy place in the next week, with two school concerts coming up.
First, on Friday, May 17, a choir Pops Concert will start at 7 p.m. There is no admission cost and the public is welcome to attend.
The concert will feature 20 different acts, ranging from classic country to current pop.
Pops concerts tend to be a tribute to the school’s seniors, so they’re featured as much as possible. This year’s seniors include Mark Murphy, Rachel Nelson, Tanya Berns, Dalton Dahms, Becca Genoch, Olivia Stoll, Grace Wooten, Rayonna Sack, Kayeri Dormbusch and Maren Anderson.
The show is expected to be just over two hours long.
Then, on Tuesday, May 21, student musicians will again take the stage with an orchestra concert at 7 p.m.
The concert will include orchestra students in grades 4-12, from both the Perham public schools as well as St. Paul’s and St. Henry’s parochial schools.
As a special feature of the concert, alumni have been invited back to join the students on a couple of selections. There will also be one piece that all of the current students and alumni will perform together.
Musical selections for the evening will include songs from the movie “Brave,” the theme from the “Halo” video game, and “The Adventures of String-Man,” featuring a ‘musical superhero.’
Again, the public is welcome and there is no charge for admission.
