Two-vehicle crash in Otter Tail County sends 4 to hospital
OTTER TAIL COUNTY – A Fargo man and three others were taken to the hospital as a result of a two-vehicle car crash in Otter Tail County on Friday, authorities said.
Calby Beckstrand, 23, of Fargo drove his pickup truck through a stop sign at the intersection of highway 41 and 440th Street, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s officials said. Beckstrand’s truck did not stop or slow down and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 41.
Beckstrand’s vehicle rolled at least once and one of his two passengers was ejected from the vehicle.
Deputies responded to the accident at 5:50 p.m. and found both vehicles in a wooded area in the northwest corner of the intersection.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Beckstrand's had to be cut out of their car, authorities said.
The four people involved in the crash all suffered minor to moderate injuries and the driver of the vehicle traveling northbound had to be airlifted to an area hospital.
The other three involved in the crash were taken by ambulance to Perham Health in Perham.
Sheriff’s officials would not release the names or place of residence of the others involved in the crash or which hospital the other driver was airlifted to.
Beckstrand was cited for a stop sign violation and both vehicles were totaled.
