United Way to celebrate the year's successes with annual luncheon
United Way of Otter Tail County will hold its annual Community Impact Luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 16. The event, a celebration of United Way's successes over the past year, will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham.
A soup lunch will be served, and guests will learn how their donations to United Way improve the lives of people in Otter Tail County.
Guest speakers will include: Sean Sullivan, President of United Way of Otter Tail County Board of Directors; Cori Brown, Perham Boys and Girls Club Director; and Arne Gudmestad, Friends of Friends Fighting Hunger Chairwoman.
Volunteers and businesses that have made an impact in the community will be honored.
Awards will also be given for Top 5 Corporate Gifts, Top 5 Employee Campaigns, Top 15 Campaign Champions and Community Champions.
Retiring United Way board members include Greg Larson, Glenn Moerke and Tim Rogelstad. Nominated new board members to be voted upon include: Shelley Gummeringer, Pelican Rapids; Tracy Bieger, Perham; and Dianne Beckman, Underwood.
United Way of Otter Tail County leveraged $307,317.61 in 2012.
United Way's mission is to improve lives in Otter Tail County by mobilizing the caring powers in the community. United Way provides support to programs in the county by focusing on financial stability, education and good health.
