UPDATE: One adult, two kids hurt in crash on Hwy. 10
A traffic accident took place in the west-bound lane of U.S. Highway 10 a few miles west of Perham on Tuesday morning.
The accident involved a red Ford Windstar van and a semi-truck.
The Minnesota State Patrol identified the van’s driver as Gina Bower, 27, from Mahnomen, Minn. Perham Fire Chief Mark Schmidt said she and two juvenile passengers were taken to Perham Health.
From there, according to the state patrol’s report, Bower was airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo with serious injuries. Her passengers, aged 2 years and 6 months, both sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck, Todd Iverson, 47, of Wahpeton, N.D. had no apparent injuries.
All involved were wearing seatbelts.
The crash occurred near the junction of Minn. 228 and County Road 60 at about 9:30 a.m.
According to the accident report, the semi had been east-bound on Highway 228 and was crossing Highway 10. While the semi was crossing, the van hit the right, rear side of the semi’s trailer.
The Minnesota State Patrol led the accident investigation and was assisted by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office. Also responding at the scene were the Perham Fire Department and Perham Ambulance.
