Updates complete at New York Mills library
The New York Mills Public Library has newly painted walls and a brand new carpet, thanks to 390 volunteer hours and more than $10,000 in donations. Over a two week period in November, 84 volunteers helped box up and move books to a trailer, rip up the old carpet, move the shelves and paint the walls, ceilings and trim. Director Julie Adams said, "Everything went very, very well. Everyone pitched in. It was a lot of work and I appreciate all the help everybody did." The money came from two years of fundraisers including used book sales, a ventriloquist show, T-shirt sales and a virtual 'pass the hat.'
