Vehicle-deer accidents reported
Three accidents involving deer happened over the weekend, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
No serious injuries to drivers were reported. Alcohol played a factor in one of the accidents.
In one crash, a driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer near the intersection of Highway 35 and Kruger Loop near Perham. The mishap took place at 10:51 p.m. on June 14. A citation was issued since the accident was alcohol-related.
Another driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer, along County Highway 1, at 2:53 a.m. June 15.
The driver stuck a utility pole, which later was repaired by a crew from Lake Region Electric Cooperative.
A third vehicle-deer accident took place at 11:14 p.m. on June 16, at the intersection of Highways 58 and 19, northeast of New York Mills.
Drivers are reminded to be alert to the possibility of deer on or near the roads, and to drive with caution.
