Vergas man sentenced in connection with car theft
A Vergas man, 45-year-old Anthony Ralph Flores, was sentenced Dec. 3 in Otter Tail County Court following a felony charge of receiving stolen property.
Flores and an accomplice had come into possession of a 2003 Monte Carlo that had been stolen from a car dealership in New Mexico.
Flores was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail, according to court records. Previous time served, however, exceeded that, so he will not be confined. He will have to pay a fine of $500.
The vehicle had been stolen from a dealership in Clovis, N.M., on Aug. 28. The dealership had a description of Flores and forwarded it to law enforcement agencies in several states.
Flores and his accomplice had previously been linked to the theft of a Cushman scooter in Steele County, N.D.
