Viking Library System sponsors local cultural heritage programs
Viking Library System is pleased to announce the sponsorship of the following programs through its Cultural Heritage Legacy Program:
-Mills IMPACT Team with New York Mills Public Library: "Summer Enrichment Program"
-Perham Area Public Library: "Bruce the Bug Guy and the Bug Show"
-New York Mills Arts Retreat and Regional Cultural Center, with New York Mills Public Library: "Papermaking from Plants"
These free arts, history and cultural events will take place in July and August.
Sponsorship applications will soon be available for arts, history and cultural programs taking place in the fall 2010. The Viking Library System member libraries located in Browns Valley, Douglas County (Alexandria), Elbow Lake, Fergus Falls, Glenwood, Hancock, Morris, New York Mills, Pelican Rapids, Perham, and Wheaton may apply for VLS sponsorship of one or more programs either independently or with community partners.
Community arts, history and cultural organizations are encouraged to team up with local public libraries if there is a particular program they would like to bring to the area.
